The Who's Who in Ophthalmology was opened to the public today to provide an interactive, knowledge-sharing, and promotional platform to showcase leading ophthalmologists and leading practices.
Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine and surgery that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders and there are more than 23,000 ophthalmologists in the United States and more than 210,000 worldwide.
“Professionals in the field of ophthalmology are often confused with optometrists and opticians so we’ve created a dedicated social network for ophthalmologists, their practices, and their affiliates,” stated Brian Christie, CEO of Brainsy. “The Who’s Who in Ophthalmology will feature leading personalities and practices and give them a unique set of tools to both share knowledge and highlight their credentials and thought leadership.”

Prospective patients will have access to a public directory of providers but the site will not be for patient consultations or the discussion of specific conditions as the site is for general information only and does not replace a client-patient relationship formed through in-person consultations.
Individual medical doctors invited to the platform will be peer-nominated or selected based on certifications in the field. They will have access to interactive tools including the “InCall®” feature so they can get paid for one-on-one phone calls with peers or industry.
